Amount Awarded: $15,000 | Project Status: Completed Spring 2023
As a non-profit organization focused on empowering underserved individuals in Will County Dupage Township, F.O.C.U.O.S. has made significant progress with the help of the $15,000 ARPA fund grant received last year. The organization utilized the grant to purchase a 16-passenger van, which has been instrumental in transporting adolescents, youth, and young adults to workshops, trainings, discussions, and outings. To further enhance the impact and efficiency of their programs, they also plan to purchase an additional van or bus in the near future to reduce logistical challenges and provide better access to opportunities for people they serve.
The efforts of F.O.C.U.O.S. in empowering underserved and at-risk individuals within the community have had a significant impact. By providing positive mentorship, educational workshops, and enriching outings, the organization has helped youth and young adults realize their potential and develop important life skills. The accessibility and availability of these programs have created a supportive environment that fosters personal growth and social connections among participants.
“We are incredibly grateful for the ARPA funding that F.O.C.U.O.S. received last year, which enabled us to purchase a 16-passenger van to enhance our programs aimed at empowering underserved individuals in Will County Dupage Township. This funding has significantly expanded our capacity to provide mentorship, workshops, and outings to adolescents, youth, and young adults in our community. While we have made great strides with the current resources, the need for an additional van or bus is evident to further streamline our operations and better serve those in need. We remain committed to maximizing the impact of these funds to create lasting positive change in the lives of the individuals we support.”
