Frankfort Township – Improving Water Drainage
Improving
Water Drainage
Frankfort Township
Amount Awarded: $180,264 | Project Status: Completed Spring 2024
Will County allocated American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funding to Frankfort Township to improve local drainage infrastructure, which included ditches and culverts that were at least 50 years old. Thanks to ARPA funding, the Road District was able to renovate and replace these crucial infrastructure items during the Fall of 2023 and Spring of 2024. This project will reduce the risks of flooding for residents of Frankfort Township.
The community response to the work has been very positive. The reestablished ditch lines have eliminated the nuisance and potential health impacts of standing water. With unprecedented cost increases and material shortages in recent years, the ARPA grant gave the Township the ability to financially complete the project.
“I would like to thank everyone who has helped the Frankfort Township Road District with receiving and completing the ARPA Grant. It has provided a great amount of infrastructure improvements for the community.”
Bill Carlson | Frankfort Township Road Commissioner
